The diner is completely cleaned, everything is restocked, and I haven’t done anything to the food just yet. No one else has come in to grab anything in the few hours I’ve been here, but you never know. Especially since the power has now gone out. I can barely see as the three customers finally manage to leave me alone to finish up, lock the doors, and start to head back to the motel. Tags called here a little while ago to let me know they were still at home and to let him know as soon as I’m ready to leave. He’ll meet me here from the hospital.

With the door locked so I can make my rounds once more to double check everything, I finally start to put the food Charisma cooked away. She’s got burgers, chili, soup, and a few other things already prepared for the day. Making a list, I pack up a few things to take with me to the motel so I can have something to eat when I get hungry. I’ve already eaten my meal here. The one thing I’m not sure what to do is to close out the register. So, I’ve decided to just count it all out, put the money in one of the bags Charisma has on hand in her office, and leave a note on it.

Just before taking the money back into the office and grabbing Charisma’s things, I unlock the door so I can just head out. As I head back into the dining room, the door flies open causing my head to snap up so I can see who’s coming in the diner since the closed sign is flipped and no one’s been here for hours.

“Onyx, I’ve finally found you,” the man before me says, his cold, dead voice filling me with dread. “Now, you’re coming with me. Where is your bastard of a son?”

“He’s not here,” I state as he walks toward me.

“You’re gonna come with me or I’ll find him and kill him. Those are your options,” my father says, grabbing onto my arm and yanking me to him.

“I-I-I’ll g-g-go with you,” I tell him, hating my voice for sounding so weak and wavering the way it is in fear.

My father doesn’t take any chances as he starts to beat the hell out of me, so I’ll be in no condition to run from him. It’s happened before and I knew it was only a matter of time before it happened again since I’ve been in Willow Creek for far too long now. This is how he found me and why I try to constantly keep moving around.

“Make me sit in this hellhole town for days watching you until I could get my hands on you,” my father spits out as he starts to drag me from the floor to cover the front of his body. “And you hang out with lowlife bikers now? How you have fucking fallen since leaving my house. Now, you won’t ever have to worry about that shit again.
